Davenport — St. Ambrose University invites students entering seventh or eighth grade to Health Careers Ad­ven­ture Camp July 21-25 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Local health care facilities and fitness agencies will help students explore various health professions. Cost is $200 until July 1 and $225 after July 1. Schol­arships are available. Davenport — St. Ambrose University is offering a course on Youth Ministry Studies June 12 – 13 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day. The course will focus on fostering the faith growth of youth through evangelization and catechesis. The course is intended for those in ministry with youth ages 11 to 18, in both parish and school settings. Cost is $200, and includes materials and refreshments. Parish or team discount is available. Kalona — Iowa City Hospice is hosting a luncheon on May 28 at 11:30 a.m. at The Kalona Bakery. This luncheon is open to any individual who has experienced a loss and is struggling with grief and bereavement. It occurs every other month. Bettendorf — Deacon John Weber will be offering a Scripture class on the Gospel of St. Mark. Classes will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Bettendorf in the parish center on Saturday mornings from 9-10:30 a.m. The first class meets May 24. No charge.

Davenport — A Young Adult Holy Hour is held the fourth Thursday of each month at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The next Holy Hour will occur May 22 at 7:30 p.m.. Father Corey Close will offer a brief reflection and confession, and and praise music will be played. Social to follow.

Davenport — Eagles’ Wings is hosting SWAP (Soaking With a Purpose) prayer meeting Friday, May 23 at 7 p.m.

Davenport — The Sisters of Humility invite the general public to pray with them at 11:40 a.m. Wednesdays during a special Mass for peace. It will be celebrated in the Magnificat Chapel at the Humility of Mary Center, 820 W. Central Park Ave.

Iowa City — People meet to pray the rosary and receive Communion at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Melrose Meadows Retirement Community. All Catholics are welcome.

Rock Island, Ill — St. Mary Monastery is hosting a discussion about the spiritual needs and interests of young adults May 24 at 10 a.m. It will be led by Sister Sr. Bobbi Bussan, OSB , and will end with lunch. A tour of St. Mary Monastery will be given. All young adults in the Quad-Cities area are invited.

Wheatland – Our Lady of the Prairie welcomes interested individuals to the following events. The Gifts of the Celtic Year led by Patricia Shea, Ph.D will take place May 30 beginning at 5 p.m. and ending June 1 at 10 a.m.. Participants in this event will have the opportunity to explore and experience ways to use the ancient seasonal wisdom of Celtic spirituality to support living of the days of each season. Fee: $125. The Taize Vigil Service will take place on Sunday June 1 at 5 p.m. This service is for Christians of all denominations who would like to engage in unified and compassionate prayer. Bettendorf — Women’s Choice Center is hosting a motorcycle “Ride for LIfe” June 7 at 9 a.m. In lieu of entry fee, riders are asked to bring a box of diapers for the center’s diaper ministry. Registration begins at the Center at 8 a.m. Motorcycles will travel to Galena, Ill and back, with prize drawings held along the route.
