Columbus Junction — A bilingual Healing Mass will take place at St. Joseph Church Sept. 5. Confessions will be heard 6 to 6:45 p.m., Mass at 7 p.m., and eucharistic adoration and prayers for healing following Mass.
Davenport — Sacred Heart Parish is hosting a Healing Mass, Aug. 22. Confessions start at 6 p.m., praise music at 6:30 p.m., Mass at 7:10 p.m.
RETREATS
Davenport — The annual St. Alphonsus retreat will take place Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. The theme is “A God of Renewal and Passion for His Church.” The cost is $10, and includes a light lunch and beverages. Rock Island, Ill. — Single Catholic women ages 22 to 50 are invited to learn about religous life at a retreat Aug. 29 to Sept. 1 at St. Mary Monastery. Clinton — Emily Brabham, candidate with the Sisters of St. Francis and the director of youth ministry at St. Francis Xavier Parish in La Grange, Ill., will make a presentation at The Canticle Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. She will focus on the different forms of povery she encountered while on a mission immersion trip to Nairobi, Kenya.

Bettendorf — Brighter Dawns is hosting a family fair fundraising event Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rivermont Collegiate. Bounce houses, face painting and bake sale available, $5 admission, 5 and under free. All proceeds go towards non-for-profit Brighter Dawns mission to provide access to clean water for the people of Bangladesh.

Riverside — St. Mary Parish is hosting its annual Labor Day celebration Sept. 1. Food will be served 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; options include pork chop dinner for $11 advance or $12 at door; fried chicken dinner $10 advance or $11 at door; hot dog kid’s meal $5 advance or $6 at door, and kids under 5 eat free hot dog meal. Festivities include crafts, farmer’s market, bingo, kids’ games including an obstacle course and 1 p.m. tractor pull, auction, and raffle. Grand prize for raffle is $1,500.
