Church should reconsider Eucharist restrictions

To the editor:
The question as to whether divorced and remarried people should be allowed to receive the Eucharist is getting a lot of attention these days. For many, the answer is a simple, obvious No!
To those who see it this way, may I ask: Was there ever anyone with whom Jesus refused to eat? Anyone to whom he said, in effect if not in so many words, “You are not good enough to share the table with me?”
