Effective Wednesday, January 7, 2015
Rev. Paul J. Appel, JCL, while remaining Vice-Chancellor and Delegate for the Bishop in Matrimonial matters for the Diocese of Davenport and as pastor of St. Alphonsus Parish, Davenport, and St. Peter Parish, Buffalo, appointed Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Davenport for a six-year term.
Very Rev. Joseph M. Wolf, JCL, while remaining pastor of Our Lady of the River Parish, Le Claire, and Church of the Visitation Parish, Camanche, and Delegate for the Bishop in Matrimonial matters, removed from the office of Judicial Vicar and Vice-Chancellor for the Diocese of Davenport and appointed a Judge for the Tribunal and ecclesiastical notary.

Effective Wednesday, January 14, 2015
Rev. Michael Volkmer, C.PP.S., in accord with diocesan policy for priests serving beyond their 75th birthdays, relieved of present assignment as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Albia, and assigned as administrator of St. Mary Parish, Albia, with all the rights and duties of pastor.

Effective Wednesday, April 1, 2015
Rev. William C. Kneemiller, relieved of present assignment as pastor of SS. Philip & James Parish, Grand Mound; Sacred Heart Parish, Lost Nation; St. James Parish, Toronto; and, with the consent of the Archbishop of Dubuque, of Sacred Heart Parish, Oxford Jct; to military deployment in the Middle East for a period of one year.

Belger, relieved of present assignment as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Pella and St. Mary Parish, Oskaloosa and Priest Moderator of Immaculate Conception Parish, Colfax, and assigned as parochial vicar of St. Mary Parish, Iowa City, and Campus Minister of the Newman Catholic Student Center, Iowa City, with residence at St. Mary.
Rev. Corey C. Close, relieved of present assignment as parochial vicar of Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton, and assigned as parochial vicar of St. Mary Parish, Iowa City, and Campus Minister of the Newman Catholic Student Center, Iowa City, with residence at St. Mary.
Rev. Edward J. Fitzpatrick, while remaining a Judge in the Tribunal for the Diocese of Davenport, from assignment as Director of the Newman Catholic Student Center, Iowa City, to retirement.
Rev. Edward O’Melia, from assignment as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Davenport, to retirement.
Very Rev. John D. Spiegel, VF, relieved of present assignment as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Iowa City, and as Dean of the Iowa City Deanery, and assigned as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Pella and St. Mary Parish, Oskaloosa and Priest Moderator of Immaculate Conception Parish, Colfax.
Rev. Stephen J. Witt, relieved of present assignment as half-time parochial vicar of St. Mary Parish, Iowa City, and half-time Priest Campus Minister, Newman Catholic Student Center, Iowa City, and assigned as administrator of St. Mary Parish, Iowa City, and Campus Minister of the Newman Catholic Student Center, Iowa City, with residence at St. Mary.

Very Rev. Paul J. Appel, JCL, while remaining Judicial Vicar, Vice-Chancellor and Delegate for the Bishop in Matrimonial matters for the Diocese of Davenport, removed as pastor of St. Alphonsus Parish, Davenport, and St. Peter Parish, Buffalo, and in accord with Can 517§1 assigned along with Rev. Christopher Young and a third priest who will be named before July 1, 2015 in solidum to the parishes of St. Alphonsus, Davenport; St. Mary, Davenport; and St. Peter, Buffalo, and appointed moderator to direct the joint action and answer to the bishop.
Rev. Christopher R. Young, removed as parochial vicar of St. Alphonsus Parish, Davenport, and St. Peter Parish, Buffalo, and relieved of assignment of part-time teaching at Assumption High School, Davenport, and in accord with Can 517§1 assigned along with Very Rev. Paul J. Appel, JCL and a third priest who will be named before July 1, 2015 in solidum to the parishes of St. Alphonsus, Davenport; St. Mary, Davenport; and St. Peter, Buffalo, with residence at St. Mary Parish.
* Canon 517 – §1. When circumstances require it, the pastoral care of a parish or of different parishes together can be entrusted to several priests in solidum, with the requirement, however, that in exercising pastoral care one of them must be the moderator, namely, the one who is to direct the joint action and to answer for it to the bishop.
