Holocaust essay context

Quad Cities Yom HaShoah Committee is hosting the Ida Kramer “Children and the Holocaust” essay contest for students in grades 8 through 12 in the Quad City area. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. The essay should focus on the history of a specific child or youth who was caught in or witnessed the events of the Holocaust in Europe. The subject does not have to be Jewish. Additionally, the essay writer should write about how their impression of the Holocaust changed after having spoken to this individual.
