Davenport — Young writers who wish to experiment with a variety of creative techniques are invited to participate in St. Am­brose University’s Young Writer’s Camp this summer. The camp, intended for students entering grades 3-9, will take place July 13 through 17, from 8:30-11:30 a.m., in McMullen Hall. Davenport — St. Anthony Parish hosts a weekly grief support group Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All faiths are welcome; begin at any session. Bettendorf — St. John Vianney Parish is hosting a Haiti Mission Garage Sale June 25 from 4 – 8 p.m.; June 26 from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.; and June 27 from 7 – 11 a.m. Proceeds help ongoing missionary work in Jean Denis, Haiti.
Davenport — A fair trade festival for a socially responsible shopping opportunity will take place July 11 from 3-6 p.m. and July 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Parish. The parish’s Christian Service Ministry is sponsoring the event.
Davenport — St. Mary Parish is hosting a retirement party for Father Ed O’Melia June 27 following the 5 p.m. Mass. The festivities will be held outdoors behind the rectory (weather permitting).
Iowa City — Young Adult Catholics (Y.A.C.) meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 7:30-9 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in the Zaga Room downstairs.
