Davenport — Young writers who wish to experiment with a variety of creative techniques are invited to participate in St. Am­brose University’s Young Writer’s Camp this summer. The camp, intended for students entering grades 3-9, will take place July 13 through 17, from 8:30-11:30 a.m., in McMullen Hall. Davenport — St. Anthony Parish hosts a weekly grief support group Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All faiths are welcome; begin at any session. Davenport — Eagles’ Wings is celebrating Adoration July 14 at noon, with a Healing Mass to follow at 1 p.m. Reconciliation is available before Mass and prayers for healing following Mass.

Wheatland — Home Tonight: Further Reflec­tions on the Parable of the Prodigal Son by Henri Nouwen will take place July 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sister Kathleen Storms, SSND, will facilitate. Henri Nouwen is best known for The Return of the Prodigal Son which he wrote after he suffered a personal breakdown. Within healing solitude, he reflected on and identified with the parable’s characters and experienced profound and inspiring life lessons. Cost to attend is $20. Davenport — A fair trade festival for a socially responsible shopping opportunity will take place July 11 from 3-6 p.m. and July 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Parish. The parish’s Christian Service Ministry is sponsoring the event.
Davenport — A Black and White Gala to support pro-life activities will take place Aug. 14 at St. Ambrose University. A Mass will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel, with a 6:30 p.m. dinner and auction in the Rogalski Center. Look for more details in future editions of The Catholic Messenger.
