Grinnell — St. Mary Parish is hosting a program titled “The Common Good and Climate Change” July 25 at 1 p.m. at the Drake Library in Grinnell. The aim of the program is to create a better understanding of our responsibility to care for the natural environment and to protect the most vulnerable among us. The 60 minute presentation is composed of two guest speakers: Father Bud Grant, an environmental theologian and professor at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, and John Clayton, a local native life enthusiast who is trained on climate reality through Al Gore’s foundation. The event is free and open to the public.
Goose Lake — Assumption & St. Patrick Parish in Charlotte is hosting a beef and pork dinner with all the trimmings, including beverage and dessert on Aug. 9 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Millennium Ballroom in Goose Lake.
