Wheatland — The fifth-annual Spirit of the Prairie, with proceeds benefitting Our Lady of the Prairie programs, will take place Aug. 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. Enjoy music and locally produced food, wines and beer. Davenport — The Hispanic community at St. Mary Parish is hosting a parish festival Sept. 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be authentic, homemade Mexican food and drinks. All proceeds go to benefit the parish.
Davenport — On Aug. 20, Quad Cities Interfaith is hosting Asemblea de Direchos Civiles in their pilgrimage across Iowa for immigration reform. A procession from the corner of 4th and Main to the Irish Memorial at the corner of 2nd and Harrison in Davenport will begin at 4:30 p.m. At 5 p.m., there will be a prayer vigil and call to action. Petersville — Immaculate Conception Parish is hosting a beef and pork dinner Aug. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adults eat for $10, children for $5. Carry out available, handicap accessible.
Solon — St. Mary Parish is hosting a Harvest Fest Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Chicken dinner is $10 for ages 13 to adult, $6 for children ages 6 through 12. Tickets can be purchased at the church office or the door. There will be children and family activities, a country store and silent auction and raffle. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20. First prize is season tickets to the Hawkeye’s men’s basketball games for two, second prize is $500 and third prize is $250.
