Health and sexuality workshops Oct. 23,24

IOWA CITY — Two workshops on the topics of sexuality will take place at St. Wenceslaus Church Oct. 23 and 24.
The first, “Going Natural: A Healthy Choice” will take place Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Theology of the Body experts, clergy and Natural Family Planning practitioners and doctors will present a scientific analysis on the chemistry of sex, fertility and relationships. Topics include NaPro Technology; the biochemistry of sex, gender, bonding and attachment; the biological downsides and common side effects of chemical contraceptives; comparison of the six methods of Natural Family Planning; fertility awareness techniques that can help with conception, infertility and other gynecological health issues; differences between a common medical practice and an NFP-only practice, and more.

The event is intended for engaged and married couples, counselors, teachers, students, clergy and religious, religious education teachers and directors, doctors, chiropractors, nurses, pharmacists, technicians and social workers. CEU professional hours are available.

On Oct. 24, a workshop “An Invitation to Love — God’s Plan for Sexuality and Marriage” will take place from 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Topics include Theology of the Body; biochemistry of sex, gender, bonding and attachment; response to sexual chaos in our culture; and NFP personal testimony.
