HARPER- Stanley Chambers, age 70, of Harper, died Monday, May 16, 2016, at his home.

Stanley was born August 5, 1945, in Fairfield, to Raymond and Beverly (Killian) Chambers.  He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1963 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.  On August 30, 1969, Stanley married Donna Snakenberg at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper.  Stanley worked at Amana Refrigeration for 40 years and enjoyed keeping busy, fixing things, going for drives, bowling, golfing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife: Donna of Harper; son: Michael (Jacqueline) Chambers of Van Horne; two grandchildren: Tyler and Courtney Chambers and brother: Steve (Sally) Chambers of Washington.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Holy Trinity Parish – St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating.  Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries – St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a wake service at 5:00 p.m.
