BETTENDORF — The Davenport Diocese’s Office of Social Action is working with the Scott County Emergency coordinator and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to present a workshop at St. John Vianney Parish on July 26 at 9 a.m.
The workshop’s purpose is threefold: to assist houses of worship in developing an emergency operations plan for the facility, to assist houses of worship in preparing their congregants for an emergency impacting them as individuals and families, and to encourage them to take a role in their communities when disaster strikes.
The workshop will feature speakers from FEMA, national faith denomination disaster organizations and local pastors. The event is designed for all houses of worship in Iowa.
Parishes will receive a detailed flyer, but for additional information, please contact Glenn Leach at leach@davenportdiocese.org or (563)324-1911.
