Clinton — The Sisters of St. Francis present “movies that matter” monthly at The Canticle. One Peace at a Time will be shown Sept. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Clinton — The Franciscan Peace Center hosts Ted Talk discussions every Tuesday on the Sisters of St. Francis Facebook page.
GRIEF SUPPORT
Bettendorf — St. John Vianney Parish will offer GRIEFSHARE, a Christian-based support program for people experiencing grief, Sunday afternoons from 2-4 p.m. from Aug. 21-Nov. 20 (no 9/4 meeting). For location, contact the parish at (563) 332-7910 and ask for Health Ministry, ext. 122. Leave a voice mail message with name, telephone number and e-mail address. A health minister will contact you about the location of sessions.
Bettendorf — Widows and Widowers from St. John Vianney Parish in Bettendorf meet the third Wednesday of each month at noon in the dining room at Bettendorf Hy-Vee, 2900 Devils Glen Road. Purchase what you want for lunch.
Davenport — St. Paul the Apostle Parish is hosting a grief ministry for those enduring any type of hurt. The group meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 6-8 p.m. in McEleney Hall. LITURGY/PRAYER
Muscatine — A healing Mass will be held Sept. 8 at Ss. Mary & Mathias Parish. Confessions at 6 p.m., praise and worship music at 6:30 p.m., Mass at 7 p.m. After Mass, stay and have the opportunity to be prayed over.

Bettendorf — An in-service for catechist educators and youth ministry parents will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Sept. 21. A lasagna meal will be served from 5-5:45 p.m. and the in-service will take place from 6-8 p.m. Cost of the in-service is $10 per person or $50 per parish. Muscatine — Ss. Mary & Mathias Parish will host a parish mission for the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Father Greg Bramlage will celebrate weekend Masses Sept. 10 and 11. Then the mission will be held Sept. 12, 13 and 14 beginning at 6 p.m. at the parish, 215 W. 8th St., Muscatine. Childcare available.
Wheatland — Cook up a Storm at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat Sept. 14 from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Prepare earth friendly and healthy foods from scratch. Fee is $30. Clinton — Clinton Catholic School Alumni are hosting a Shamrockin’ Reunion Sept. 17-18. Sept. 17 activities include a tour of the Catholic Historical Center at St. Boniface from 2-4 p.m., Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 5 p.m. and dinner at Rastrelli’s Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy breakfast at Prince of Peace Catholic School Sept. 18 from 8-10 a.m. Dinner is $25, other events are by free will donation. Davenport — Holy Family Parish is hosting a homecoming celebration Sept. 18. An outdoor Mass starts the day at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch (free will offering) and festivities until the closing at 2 p.m.
Davenport — St. Mary Parish will host a kermes “festival” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 11 behind the parish center. A variety of authentic Mexican food will be available for purchase. Farmington — St. Boniface Parish is hosting a fall dinner Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Harmony School. Lamb and pork meal served for $10. Raffle, silent auction, no-walk, cake walk and bazaar.
Mechanicsville — St. Mary Parish is hosting an ice cream social Sept. 18 from 4-6:30 p.m. Maid-rites, hot dogs, sides, pies and cakes and ice cream. Adults $8, children 4-10 pay $5, free for children 3 years old and under. Country store, quilt raffle.
Oxford Junction — Sacred Heart Parish is hosting a polka Mass Sept. 18 at 10:30 a.m. A fried chicken dinner with kolaches, salads and deserts will be served from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Legionnaire Ballroom at Wapsi Park. Adults $11, children ages 5-10 $5, children under 5 years old eat free. Carryouts $12. Raffle, bake sale, silent auction and games.
Riverside — St. Mary Parish is hosting its annual Labor Day celebration Sept. 5. Dinner served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., auction at 2:30 p.m. Crafts, games and raffles throughout the day.
Sigourney — St. Mary Parish is hosting a fall festival Sept. 11 from 4 – 6:30 p.m. Smoke pork chop and children’s meals of hamburger or chicken breast will be served for $10. Children aged five and under eat free. Quilt and money raffle.
Solon — St. Mary Parish is hosting a harvest festival Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Chicken dinner will be served: Adults pay $10, children ages 6-17 years old pay $6 and children 5 years old and under eat free. Raffle (including Hawkeye men’s basketball season tickets and 50/50), games, country store, silent auction and apple pie contest.
Washington — St. James Parish is hosting a fall festival Sept. 11. Dinner is served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Country store opens at 9 a.m. Adults pay $10, children ages 6-17 years old pay $5. Free for children 5 years old and under.
West Liberty — St. Joseph Parish is hosting a Latino Festival Sept. 4 from 2-7 p.m. in downtown West Liberty. Authentic cuisine, pizza and drinks will be served. Festivities include children’s games, music and crowning of the Little Princess of West Liberty.
