To the Editor:
Americans are so blessed to live in the United States. And yet some abuse the privilege time and time again. That’s not the way God wants us to live. He wants us to live in peace with one another to help one another.
We should review God’s Ten Commandments because one day each one of us will be judged by them. The most important one is to love God and the rest will fall in place: honor your parents, do not kill, do not commit adultery, do not steal, for example.
What gives anyone the right to steal from someone else? Nothing! Then we come to thou shalt not kill. What is so hard to understand about that? It simply means you don’t kill anyone.
Unfortunately, we have a law that is contrary to God’s law. This law allows abortion of our tiniest, unborn children. Since this law was passed in 1973, 58 million unborn babies have been murdered in their mothers’ wombs.
There are some who say it is just “tissue.” Any woman who has had a baby knows this is not true; it is a human being, a God-given baby. Furthermore, the people and doctors who work in the abortion clinics know it’s a baby, too, if they would admit it.
We need to defund Planned Parenthood NOW and have our president, judges, senators and representatives make a new law condemning abortion, which is the killing of our children. They should all be pro-life, not pro-death. We need our elected leaders in Washington, D.C., — our Republicans and our Democrats — to come together to work for the good of our country on this life and death issue and on all our country’s issues. May God have mercy on us.
