We all have failings

To the Editor:

Bishop (Thomas) Zinkula’s call to personal repentance in response to the failing of the church is welcome. As one small cell in the body of Christ, this sinner acknowledges that my own failings have consequences just as do those of the priests. We all bear the guilt that crucified Jesus.

To date, I have given up all snacking after 5 p.m. and have added a chaplet of Mercy for priests as my nightly prayer before bed. I have given the devil the “heads up” that my evenings again belong to God and not to the devil.

Please do not condemn priests. They are chosen by God for our sanctification. Yes, some have failed. But others have made untold sacrifice for the church to the point of shedding blood. Support priests with prayer.
