Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Doris J. Schulte, 89, a resident of Davenport will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the gathering space at the church on Saturday. Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Those wishing to attend the burial services should meet at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
Doris died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Fejervary Health Care Center, Davenport.
Doris J. Montgomery was born Nov. 29, 1919 in Bloomfield, Iowa, the daughter of John L. and Stella M. (Dickel) Montgomery. She was united in marriage to Woodrow Henry Schulte Nov. 16, 1941 in Minneapolis. He preceded her in death June 24, 2005.
Doris loved to dance, she enjoyed spending time in her garden, traveling, and playing bingo at Fejervary.
Survivors include her stepson and his wife, Dale E. & Coral A. Degen, Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow, a sister Claudean N. Degen and brothers William, Laverne and Robert Montgomery.
