DAVENPORT — Early registration is underway for the 14th annual St. Ambrose University Killer Bee 5K Run/Walk and children’s “Bumble Rumble” on Saturday, Oct. 10, as part of the 2009 homecoming activities. 

A homecoming favorite, the Killer Bee rambles through campus and the residential neighborhood north of St. Ambrose. Race time for the Killer Bee is 8 a.m., with the Bumble Rumble following at 9 a.m. Finish line refreshments will include cookies, beverages and fruit.

Early registration for the Killer Bee is $18 a person. All pre-registered 5K entrants will receive a long-sleeved Killer Bee T-shirt. Awards will go to the top male and female alumni finishers, as well as awards in 13 age categories. 

The Bumble Rumble contains a .5K fun run for children 6 and under, as well as a 1K youth fun run for children ages 7-10. All registrants receive a medal and all pre-registered Bumble Rumble participants receive a short-sleeved t-shirt. Parents are welcome to run with their children and strollers are allowed. Early registration for the .5K and 1K children’s fun run is $12.

To sign up for the Killer Bee or the Bumble Rumble, log onto www.sau.edu/homecoming. The last day for early registration is Monday, Sept. 28. After this date, Killer Bee registration is $23 and Bumble Rumble registration is $15. For more information, call (563) 333-6295.
