Allen Chapman, music teacher, and the 14 Holy Trinity Catholic High School students who will be trying out Oct. 24 for the All-State Music Festival have been putting in plenty of practice hours. A three-day camp was held at Davenport North High School in early August to introduce the singers to the music.

Since that time the HTC students have been busy practicing whenever their hectic schedules will allow. About 17 percent of students statewide who audition will be selected to participate in the All-State Music Festival Nov. 19-21.

Since 2007, Holy Trinity Catholic High School has been the lone 1A school in the Southeast Iowa District to have members selected to participate in the All-State Music Festival. Seniors Alex Tinguely and Sean Conrad have both been selected in previous years.
