Sisters to mark 75 years

Two Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary who are former educators in the Davenport Diocese will celebrate 75 years in religious life this month.

Sister Carol Bartlett and Sister Virginia Healy (Richardette) are among five diamond jubilarians who will gather at Mount Carmel Motherhouse Chapel in Dubuque on Sept. 13 for a liturgy of thanksgiving.

The five entered the BVM congregation Sept. 8, 1934, professed first vows March 19, 1937, and final vows Aug. 15, 1942.

Sr. Bartlett was principal at St. Patrick School in Iowa City from 1953-58.

Sr. Healy taught high school at Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport from 1948-51, St. Mary in Clinton from 1952-54 and Our Lady of Angels in Clinton from 1954-60. She also was principal at Our Lady of Angels from 1960-66.
