Solon parish to host harvest fest

SOLON — St. Mary Parish in Solon will be hosting its Harvest Festival on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The public is welcome.  A home-cooked dinner will be served from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and includes oven-fried chicken, pork loin, mashed potatoes, gravy, sauerkraut, corn, applesauce, dinner roll, salad and dessert.  Meals will also be available for carryout. 

The raffle drawing will be held at 2:30 p.m. Prizes include Iowa Kinnick football suite tickets for 16 for a Nov. 21 game and $600 in cash prizes. Other activities include a country store, bidding barn, music, bingo and kids’ games.  Admission is free.

Advance meal tickets are $8 for an adult, $5 for children 6-10 years of age, and free for children 5 and younger. The cost will be an additional $1 at the door. To purchase advance meal tickets, contact the church office at (319) 624-2228.
