Davenport — A healing Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral Sept. 18. Confessions start at 6 p.m., praise music at 6:45 p.m., and Mass at 7:15 p.m. All are welcome.

MEETINGS

Solon — The Davenport Diocese’s Stewardship Day will take place Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Mary Parish in Solon. The event includes prayer, reflection, lay witness talks, breakout sessions, Mass with Bishop Martin Amos, parish networking and a keynote address by Father Frank DeSiano. He is a nationally recognized expert on evangelization, stewardship and discipleship. There is no registration fee. Lunch will be offered for a  freewill offering.  Register by Sept. 30 to Dan Ebener, ebener@davenportdiocese.org.

RETREATS

Wheatland — “The Recipe for Motherhood,” a retreat, will take place at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat near Wheatland Monday, Sept. 28,  from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Presenter will be Marilyn Riley. Camanche — Church of the Visitation will host a fundraising breakfast Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to noon in the parish hall. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger. Menu includes pancakes, eggs, suasage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, coffee, milk and juice. Proceeds go toward the building fund.

Clinton — Prince of Peace Parish will host its 37th annual pork dinner and family festival Sept. 27 from noon to 5 p.m. at St. Boniface Hall. The event will feature kids’ games, beer tent, hourly raffles and music. Cost is $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 5-12, and free for children younger than 5.

Davenport — The Taste of Sacred Heart festival for Sacred Heart Cathedral will take place Sept. 27 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Students will sing and Vietnamese girls will dance.  Bratwursts, hot dogs, German potato salad, baked beans, and Italian, Irish, Mexican, Slavic, Vietnamese and Chinese foods will be served. Cash prizes of $250, $100 and $50 will be awarded. The event also features pony rides and kids’ games. Gift cards and other items for a drawing may be donated to the parish office.

East Pleasant Plain — Ss. Joseph & Cabrini Parish will host a pork loin and turkey dinner with salad and a dessert bar, bazaar and auction Sept. 20. Meal is served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The large auction begins at 1 p.m. A raffle, country store, craft store, kids’ games and more will be featured. Jeff Adrian will provide music. Cost is $8 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 3-12 and free for children younger than 3. The church has an elevator for patrons’ convenience.

Farmington —  St. Boniface Parish will host its annual fall dinner Sept. 20 at the air-conditioned Harmony High School, 6 miles north of Farmington. Roast turkey, lamb and pork will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children younger than 10. Event also includes a cakewalk, bingo, raffle, door prizes, gift baskets, bazaar and bake sale.  A silent auction will take place for a 10-person meal hosted by Father Apo Mpanda. Raffle prizes include cash gifts of $500, $200 and $100.

Houghton — St. John’s Harvest Festival will take place Sept. 27. A roast beef dinner will be served at the Knights of Columbus Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Carryouts are available. The event also will include a country and candy kitchen, raffle drawing at 3 p.m. and auction at 11:30 a.m. Raffle items include a Cub Cadet Enforcer 54 with a 12-foot utility trailer or $7,500 cash.

Lone Tree — St. Mary Parish will host its fall auction Sept. 27. A silent auction will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a regular auction will follow at 1 p.m. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. Participants can bid on homemade pies, cakes and crafts.

Melrose — St. Patrick Church will host a fall festival Sept. 27 beginning with 10 a.m. Mass. A ham and roast beef dinner with all the trimmings will follow. There will be games for children, a country store, raffle and  auction. Dinner is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-11 and free for children ages 4 and younger. Carryouts and deliveries are available.

Muscatine — An old-fashioned chicken supper will take place Sept. 27 from 4-6:30 p.m. in Gannon Hall.  Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 5 and younger.  Meal includes fried chicken, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, roll, homemade desserts and drinks. The dinner will raise funds for the Catholic Daughters scholarship program. Tickets will be sold at Masses Sept. 19-20 and are available in the parish office at (563) 263-1416.

Oxford Junction — Sacred Heart Parish will host its annual fall festival Sept. 20.  A polka Mass will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a chicken and kolache dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rock Island, Ill. — The St. Patrick Society of the Quad-Cities is hosting its annual Erin Feis celebration Sept. 20 from noon to 7 p.m. in The District of downtown Rock Island. Event begins with outdoor Mass at the center stage area at noon. Father Greg Josefiak of Sacred Heart and St. Mary parishes in Rock Island will preside, and the choir from St. Mary will sing. The event, which includes Irish music, food and games for all ages, is the main fundraiser for the annual QC St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Victor — St. Bridget Parish will host a chicken and ham family-style supper Sept. 20 from 3:30-7 p.m. in the  air-conditioned, handicapped-accesible church basement.  Menu includes fried chicken, ham, mashed potatoes, dressing, corn, apple salad, Amana bread, butter, coffee, milk and homemade pie. Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger.  The event includes a country store and quilt raffle. Carryouts are available; delivery is offered in Victor.
