DAVENPORT — An art exhibit, “Social Commentaries,” will take place at St. Ambrose University Jan. 18 to Feb. 25.

Eight national artists explore how the Book Arts medium can be used to provide commentary on contemporary social issues such as race riots, natural disasters, political systems, teens and the world of animé, and the plight of the veteran. The exhibit is part of the university’s yearlong series, “The Ubiquity of Work.”

The Galvin Fine Arts Center Catich Gallery is located on Gaines Street between Locust and Lombard streets. It is open Tuesday–Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

For more information, contact Heather Lovewell at (563) 209-1287 or LovewellHeatherL@sau.edu, or go to www.sau.edu and search for “Catich.”
