Anna Lasher, Erin Opar, Shannon Leon and Mary Goldermann display Christmas stockings for children at Project Renewal in Davenport.

Junior high students volunteer weekly at Project Renewal, an inner city program in Davenport that provides kids with a safe place to go after school, a snack, homework help, outdoor activities, role models and love and concern.

St. Paul the Apostle School loved the Halloween party that was held at Marquette Academy in Davenport this academic year. St. Paul’s made Christmas stockings and filled them with goodies for Project Renewal participants. Students host a yearly Souper Bowl of Caring event at the Bettendorf Family YMCA with the kids from Project Renewal.

St. Paul’s also shared with friends the Project Renewal Fun Run, which helps raise much-needed money to continue supportive services.

St. Paul’s always gets more than it gives. Most importantly, the students love being friends with each other.
