Mount Pleasant — St. Alphonsus Parish  welcomes all Catholics to a parish mission titled “Uniting Our Community in Faith” Aug. 5-8.  Father Andy Meiners, a Redemptorist priest from Liguori, Mo., will lead four evenings of prayer, singing and reflections. All evenings begin at 7 p.m. Transportation, liturgy for children and childcare will be available by reservation. For more information or reservations, call St. Alphonsus Parish at (319) 385-8410.

Davenport —  Eagles’ Wings, 5816 Telegraph Road, welcomes people to a healing Mass with Father Corey Close Aug. 14 at 1 p.m.
Hills — A healing Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church Friday, Aug. 3. Confessions start at 6 p.m., praise music at 6:30 p.m., and Mass at 7 p.m.
Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Mass begins at 8 a.m., followed by 24 hours of adoration, and closes with benediction at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. For more information or to sign up for an hour, call Tony Humeston at (641) 932-7709.
MEETINGS
Davenport —  Grieving adults are invited to attend Grief Support meetings at St. Anthony’s Parish Library on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The first of nine free, weekly sessions is Aug. 7. Participants may join on any day. For more information, call (563) 322-3303.
Davenport —  Soaking With A Purpose prayer meetings will take place Aug. 10 and 24 at 7 p.m. at Eagles’ Wings.
Iowa City — The Diocese of Davenport’s Justice and Peace Advocacy Team will meet Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 5:30 p.m. in the lower level of St. Patrick Church. All are welcome. For more information, call the diocesan social action office at (563) 324-1911.

Brighton – The Polishville annual bazaar will take place at the Polishville Com­munity Center Aug. 5. A pork loin or turkey dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Bingo is from noon to 1:30 p.m. A raffle for four quilts and various gifts will take place at 2:15 p.m.
Clinton — The Catholic Historical Center at St. Boniface is open at 2520 Pershing Blvd. The museum contains numerous articles, pictures and memorabilia from the five previous Catholic parishes of Clinton, Mount St. Clare school and Our Lady of Angels school. St. Boniface, built in 1908, also contains the religious records of members of the five former parishes. The center is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon through August. People may stop by during that time or make an appointment for a tour by calling (563) 243-8033, (563) 242-6166 or (563) 243-3942.
Camanche — Church of the Visitation, 1028 Middle Road, invites the public to a corn boil Sunday, Aug. 5, from 3-7:30 p.m. Menu will include corn on the cob, pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, potato salad, beans, dessert and beverage. Cost is $7 per adult, $3 per child age 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger. Carryouts are available.
Goose Lake — Assumption & St. Patrick Parish in Charlotte is hosting a beef and pork dinner with all the trimmings, including a beverage and dessert, on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 3-7 p.m. The event will be held at the Millennium Ballroom in Goose Lake.  Carryouts are available. Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for children 3 and younger.  There will also be a gift basket silent auction, children’s games, bingo, a country store and local entertainment.
Mount Pleasant — St. Alphonsus Parish will celebrate its 150th anniversary Nov. 4. Plans include a Mass of Thanksgiving followed by a light supper in Manning Hall.
Pilot Grove — A Theology on Tap event  for young adults will take place Aug. 5 from 6-8 p.m. in the basement of Pilot Grove Savings Bank. Msgr. Marvin Mottet will present “Healing, Deliver­ance and Exorcism.” Bring a beverage.
Wheatland — The Sisters of Humility are offering a day for people to meet with them at their retreat center and learn about their life. “A Day in the Life of a Sister” will take place Sunday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, 2664 145th St. Lunch will be served.
