Why do women choose abortion?

Facebooktwittermail

To the Editor:
As the abortion debate continues to rage in this nation, perhaps we all need to take a step back and ask, why?
In order to solve any problem, one must first have a comprehensive understanding as to the cause of that problem. Why would a woman choose to have an abortion? Does she fear she cannot support the child financially? Does she fear she will he be shamed by those around her for being pregnant and not married? Is she young, alone and terrified? Does she feel unworthy herself and therefore not worthy of motherhood?
Is she in an unhealthy relationship and fears a child will make it worse? Most women who choose abortion are not heartless, careless, immoral people who callously kill their children. They are women who, in the end, paralyzed by fear, felt they had no choice at all. Some choice.
