DAVENPORT — Due to extremely cold temperatures, two education meetings related to Catholic schools were rescheduled.
A meeting on proposed Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. in Sunderbruch Auditorium at Assumption High School.
ESAs, if approved by the Iowa legislature, would allow parents to use public funds to help pay for some non-public school education options.
Speakers scheduled to present at the event are Trish Wilger, executive director of Iowa Alliance for Choice in Education and Iowa Advocates for Choice in Education; Tom Chapman, executive director of the Iowa Catholic Conference; and Eric Goranson from Iowa Association of Christian Schools.
The Jan. 8 strategic planning meeting pertaining to the Davenport Diocese’s Catholic schools also was rescheduled. That meeting will take place Thursday, Feb. 5, in Iowa City.
