Davenport — St. Ambrose University is hosting an open house for prospective students and their families Feb. 16 from 8:45 a.m. to noon in the Rogalski Center. Coaches, professors and staff will be on-hand to answer questions. The morning will also include financial aid information and a campus tour. Optional tours of the Galvin Fine Arts Center or Center for Health Science Education will be available at 11:45 a.m. for those considering careers in the fine arts or health sciences.
Hills — A Rice Bowl kick-off breakfast will take place Feb. 7 at St. Joseph Church. Register by contacting Esmerelda Guerrero at guererro or calling (563) 888-4210 at least two days prior to the event.
Burlington – The CAFÉ (Catholic Adult Fellowship Evening) will be open Feb. 11 from 6:45-8 p.m. in the Notre Dame High School cafteria with a program on Women Religious by Sister Kathy Braun, SSND, and Sister Agnes Giblin, BVM.
Davenport — Sacred Heart Cathedral is hosting the following weekly holy hours: prayers for our country Sundays from 8 to 9 p.m.; hour of divine mercy Sundays from 3 to 4 p.m.; praying for priests, seminarians and the Davenport Diocese Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.
Davenport — St. Paul the Apostle Parish is hosting the following: Project Rachel adoration hours the third Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Circle of Love charismatic prayer group Thursdays at 7 p.m.
Keokuk — All Saints Parish is reciting the rosary Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. followed by adoration, and rosary Feb. 18 and 25 at 7 p.m.
Bettendorf — St. John Vianney Parish is hosting a GriefShare grief support group from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoons from Feb. 22 to May 24. There will be no meeting Easter Sunday. Persons are welcome to begin attending the group at any point. Each session is “self-contained,” so participants will not have to attend in sequence. Burlington — PEPTalk (Parents Encouraging Parents) will take place Feb. 11 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Notre Dame Catholic School. Speaker will be Shannon Zutterlund, public speaker and author of Laugh Yourself Healthy. Her topic will be “Breath of Fresh Air.”
Davenport — St. Paul the Apostle Parish is hosting a grief ministry for those enduring any type of hurt on Thursdays at 6 p.m. in McEleney Hall. It began Jan. 22 and runs for 10 weeks. Rock Island, Ill. — St. Thomas Aquinas Guild of the Quad Cities is hosting a presentation, Courage in Medicine, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Piux X Parish’s Farrell Hall. Dr. Ashley Fernandes, associate director of the Ohio State University Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities, and an associate professor of pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, will speak.
Davenport — Assumption High School is hosting a spaghetti supper Feb. 8 in the school cafeteria from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is a free-will donation to the Assumption class of 2015 service effort.
Davenport — St. Alphonsus Parish will host lenten fish frys Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. from Feb. 20 to March 27. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children.
DeWitt — The DeWitt Operahouse is hosting a performance of the play “Map of My Kingdom” on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. The one-hour show presents snapshots of farm families struggling with land transition. Faith and its relationship to the land is a theme present in the play. A panel Q&A session will be held afterward, facilitated by Mary Swander. No admission is required but a $5 donation is encouraged. All proceeds go to FFA chapters at Calamus Wheatland and Central of Dewitt high schools. Lost Nation — Sacred Heart Parish is hosting a lasagna supper Feb. 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cost for adults is $7, children 5 to 12 pay $3, children 4 and under eat free. Proceeds go to parish and community youth activities.
Muscatine — Ss. Mary & Mathias Parish is hosting a Jazz and Jambalaya Dinner Feb. 12 at Gannon Hall from 3 to 7 p.m. Dinner includes jambalaya, roast pork sandwiches, and a kids menu of hot dogs and chips. Cost is $7.50 for adults, $3 for kids 6 to 12 years old, and free for ages 5 and under. Raffle items available.
Riverside — St. Mary Parish is hosting a pancake breakfast Feb. 22 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 5 to 10, and children under 5 eat free. Proceeds benefit St. Mary’s Education Center Building Fund.
