Supporting the Holy Land

The Good Friday special collection supports programs and services in the Holy Land — the silent witness and living custodian of our Christian origins.
Few places in the world are as precious to Catholics as those where Jesus Christ, Our Savior, walked and taught . . . lived and died. Your continued generosity is a great source of support for the victims of violence in the Holy Land, especially in Syria. Every place in the land where Christ was born and died is in great need of help today.
You can help keep alive those holy places and the work of the Franciscan missionaries who have served the people there since the 13th century. All the work done by the Franciscan Friars for the pilgrims, the native Christians and the poor of every faith depends in great part on your charitable assistance.
Please pray for peace in the Holy Land and please give generously to the annual Good Friday collection on April 18 for the holy places and the church’s works of mercy to help alleviate the suffering and need in the Holy Land.

La Colecta Especial del Viernes Santo ayuda a programas y servicios en Tierra Santa-testigos silenciosos y guardianes vivientes de nuestros orígenes cristianos.
Pocos lugares en el mundo son tan apreciados para los católicos como aquellos donde Jesucristo, Nuestro Salvador, caminó y enseñó…vivió y murió. Su continua generosidad es un gran recurso de apoyo para las víctimas de la violencia en Tierra Santa, especialmente en Siria. Hoy, cada lugar en la tierra donde Cristo nació y murió, está en gran necesidad de ayuda.
Usted puede ayudar a mantener vivo estos Santos Lugares y ayudar en el trabajo de los Misioneros Franciscanos que sirven en estos lugares desde el siglo XIII. Todo el trabajo hecho por los franciscanos para las peregrinaciones, por los cristianos nativos y los pobres de cada fe, dependen en gran parte de su asistencia caritativa.
Por favor, ore por la paz en Tierra Santa y, por favor, sea generoso con la colecta anual del Viernes Santo, este 18 de abril y, también, por las obras de misericordia de la Iglesia, para ayudar a aliviar el sufrimiento y las necesidades en Tierra Santa.
