Davenport — St. Anthony Parish hosts a weekly grief support group Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All faiths are welcome; begin at any session. Davenport — St. Paul the Apostle Parish is hosting a grief ministry for those enduring any type of hurt. The group meets on Thursdays at 6 p.m. in McEleney Hall. Sessions begin May 7 and runs for 10 weeks. The first four weeks are open, after that the group will become closed to new people until a new 10 week session begins. Davenport — Humility of Mary Housing, Inc. (HMHI) will hold its semi-annual Fresh Start Benefit Sale April 24 and 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will take place at the HMHI office and donation center located at 3805 Mississippi Ave. Donations for the sale can be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Needs include single beds, dressers and sofas to help furnish apartments for families in need.
Davenport — St. Alphonsus Parish is hosting a blood drive May 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the school gym. To raise money for the Red Cross of the Quad Cities, the parish will raffle off an emergency weather radio and a first aid travel kit; tickets are $1 each.
Epworth, Iowa — Father Piotr Nawrot, SVD, will perform rare baroque music of South Africa April 24 at Divine Word College. The concert begins at 7 p.m.; free-will donations are accepted as admission.

Oskaloosa — St. Mary Parish is auctioning one of two handmade birdbaths to raise money for a Kenyan orphanage. The birdbaths were created by Vacation Bible School students and instructors last summer. The auction close date is April 26. Starting bid is $20 with increments of $5. Non-local bidders can e-mail Donna DeJoode at oskystmarydre@ with a starting bid and top dollar bid, along with contact information. The winner will get to choose which bird bath they would like to keep. The other one will remain at St. Mary’s. Winners must pick up their item by May 3.
