Clinton — An Advent retreat, “Mercy and Our Common Home” will be held at The Canticle, the home of the Sisters of St. Francis. This day retreat will focus on how we are shaping the future of our planet. Through his recent documents, The Face of Mercy and Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home, Pope Francis calls the Church and “every person living on this planet” to embark on a new path. The public is invited to take a few hours on Saturday, Dec. 5 to relax and reflect on the pope’s message.  Facilitating the retreat will be Sister Nancy Miller, OSF, director of Franciscan Spirituality of the Sisters of St. Francis Franciscan Peace Center in Clinton. The day begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m.  Details and registration for the retreat are available at www.clintonfranciscans.com or by calling the Sisters of St. Francis, (563) 242-7611.  Lunch is included in the $25 donation.  Please register by Nov. 30.
