DAVENPORT — Persons interested in St. Ambrose University’s new marching band can take part in a marching band visit day Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. The day will include a campus tour, complimentary lunch and information about facilities, directing staff, new instruments and scholarship opportunities. Attendees may schedule a same-day scholarship audition, if desired. Registration is required.
For more information or to register for the visit day, call (563) 333-6300, email admit@sau.edu, or go to www.sau.edu/visit and look for “Marching Band Visit Day.”
When fully developed, the St. Ambrose University Marching Band will have more than 100 members. Participation in the program will open up additional scholarship opportunities for students. As with all SAU ensembles and choirs, students do not have to major in music to qualify for the marching band or these additional scholarships.
The SAU Marching Band will offer many leadership opportunities such as drum major and manager positions. The band will use standard marching instrumentation and a flag corps or color guard will be considered if there is enough interest.
For more information on all SAU music ensembles and programs, go to www.sau.edu/music.
