The Diocese of Davenport Chancery Office is seeking volunteers for the front desk, human resources department, finance department, Catholic Messenger office and the kitchen.
For the front desk, the Chancery is seeking someone who is professional, personable, understands confidentiality and is able to volunteer one or more afternoons per week. Main duties include: attending to visitors, answering the phones, handling inquiries and helping with special projects as needed. Training will be provided.
A human resources volunteer is needed for five to 10 hours per week. Desired experience includes: understanding of local, state and federal employment and EEO laws, knowledge of staff handbooks and strategic planning as it relates to human resources.
The chancery also seeks an individual with bookkeeping, accounting or financial experience to volunteer five to 10 hours a week. Desired experience includes: understanding of general accounting principles, payroll, benefits and Microsoft Office products.
The Catholic Messenger needs volunteers to help proofread pages Monday afternoon and/or Tuesday mornings. Persons who are good at catching typos, faulty grammar, missing words and erroneous headlines in the news would be excellent in this capacity.
Persons with an interest in cooking are invited to volunteer in the Chancery kitchen. A flexible schedule is preferred.
Specific duties for each position may be found on the diocesan website at www.davenportdiocese.org/employment or you may call the diocese: (563) 324-1911.
