DAVENPORT — A world-class organist will present a concert at St. Anthony Church in October. Philippe Lefebvre, the organist at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, will perform Oct. 15.

St. Anthony’s music director, Kim Noftsker, said the parish is excited to have the concert, which is open to the public. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music with a voice degree, Noftsker was able to secure the performance through connections.

Lefebvre

Lefebvre will play the church’s new Noack Pipe Organ on Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. He began studying the organ at age 16. Three years later, he was appointed lead organist at Arras Cathedral in Arras, France. In 1985 he was named head organist at Notre Dame Cathedral where he is still employed. Lefebvre has received many awards and performs regularly in Europe, Japan, Russia, Eastern Europe countries and in the United States. A meet and greet, for anyone age 21 or older, will follow in the parish hall. Didier Grassin, president of Noack Organ Builders of New York, and Bertrand Cattiaux, an instrument maker, will also be in attendance and speak.
