Clinton — Celebrate Advent Vespers at The Canticle with the Sisters of St. Francis, Sundays during Advent at 6 p.m. The 45-minute prayer service will include a reflection, which will focus on Pope Francis’ booklet, “In the Light of Hope.”
Davenport — An Advent Paint like a Saint workshop will be offered Dec. 10 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Participants can make and take one mini three-piece Nativity set, for $12. Supplies and instruction are included. Participants can choose from either the Mary, Jesus, Joseph starter set or the 3 Kings Epiphany set. This is an adult workshop. Muscatine — Theology on Tap’s ADVENT-ageous series will take place on Thursdays Nov. 30-Dec. 21 at Missipi Brew from 7-9 p.m. The series is designed to stimulate the mind and heart for Advent.
Bettendorf — St. John Vianney Parish will hold a one-day session on Surviving the Holidays, as part of the GriefShare programs the parish has been providing as support for those who are grieving. Davenport — A “Hospice Help and Supporting Grief” symposium will be held Dec. 15 at Genesis Heart Institute. There is no charge. Davenport – A Healing Mass is celebrated on the fourth Wednesday of every month at St. Mary Parish. A bilingual Mass will be celebrated at 5:15 p.m., followed by adoration and prayers for healing. Confessions will be heard before Mass through Communion.

Clinton — The Sisters of St. Francis in Clinton, with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges and the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, are holding a “Getting to Yes” First Friday Fixes peer advisory group. Davenport — St. Anthony Parish is hosting its annual Christmas concert on Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. The concert will feature the parish’s adult and children’s choirs, children’s string ensemble and liturgical dance team. Admission is free and a reception will follow.
Davenport — The Sisters of the Humility of Mary are hosting their ninth-annual CHM Holiday Gift Swap Dec. 2 from 2-4 p.m. at the Humility of Mary Center. As a way to reduce, reuse and recycle, everyone is invited to bring new or gently used gift items that are perfect for RE-gifting. Then shop the swap for that perfect gift for one or more people on your list. Leftover items will be donated to Humility of Mary Housing and Shelter programs. Guests will also be invited to enjoy homemade goodies and visit with the sisters.
Davenport — Assumption High School students will present a children’ play, “Ho Ho Ho! The Santa Claus Chronicles,” Dec. 9 and 10 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. There will also be a workshop for first-through sixth-graders on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. The $30 fee includes the workshop, lunch, t-shirt and admission to the play.
