DAVENPORT — The annual Assumption High School Century Club steak fry will look a little different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year a burger basket pick-up or stop, eat and chat will be offered Aug. 21 from 6-8 p.m. in the Assumption courtyard. With this new format there will not be a coach’s program.
Masks and hand sanitizer will be available for those who stop, eat and chat.

“We need your support this year more than ever,”said club president Kevin Halligan ’82. “We will also be passing out a special AHS gift for all those attending as a thank you from the Century Club.”

The event is free to all Century Club members. It has been an Assumption tradition for more than 30 years. Organizers say it is a fun way to kick off the upcoming 2020-21 sports programs.
“The Century Club’s sole mission is to provide financial assistance to the AHS girls’ and boys’ athletic programs,” Halligan said. “Each year the Century Club helps support all of our team sports by funding new equipment, special projects and facility improvements. Last year alone the Century Club provided in excess of $10,000 in financial assistance to Assumption’s athletic programs.”
