DAVENPORT — The annual Father Ken Martin Memorial Golf Outing to raise money for emergency scholarship grants for students at Scott County Catholic Schools will take place Aug. 26 at Emeis Golf Course. The social and dinner will not occur due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event honors Father Martin, an avid golfer and special friend to those who started the golf outing. Upon his death, he left $1,000 for his golfing buddies to have an outing, and they decided to honor “Father Kenny” by creating this annual event.
Through the years this outing has raised more than $300,000 to benefit Scott County K-12 Catholic school students through emergency scholarship grants. These grants assist families facing a financial crisis situation that may force them to take their children out of a Scott County Catholic school because of an inability to pay tuition.

Eagle sponsors for this year’s outing include Edward Jones — Paul Schnell, Dan Timmons; McCarthy-Bush Corporation; Skip and Pat O’Donnell; and Tom and Julie Sunderbruch.

Hole-in-one sponsor is Molyneaux Insurance.
