80th Birthday Poem

By Michael Chan

Eighty years have I journeyed past
Born in a mountain cave
Sheltering from the bomb blasts
That could have scared even the brave

Nurturing in the parental love and guidance
Learning from dedicated teachers in schools
Embracing God’s mercy and inspiration
Seasons changed and streams immersed in pools

CMC-podcast-ad

A flight over the Pacific Ocean
Cultivating a new life with patience
Building a family of five
Overcoming hardships and strife

Now comes the golden years
With children and grandchildren rejoicing
And with the love of God I offer my praising
And to all my friends and relatives my thanksgiving
