In praise of singing priest

Facebooktwittermail

To the Editor:
On Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. the singing Irish priest, Father Ray Kelly, performed at St. Wenceslaus Church in Iowa City. He sang over 10 songs. His voice is a gift and he uses it intelligently. He sang Irish songs, folk songs, religious songs and even songs sung by Josh Groban.
Father Kelly made it even more interesting by introducing why he chose each song. I was deeply impressed by his performance and so were the other audience members. I am very grateful that our pastor, Father Gary Beckman, hosted this beautiful and meaningful entertainment. To Father Ray Kelly, I send my utmost appreciation of the use of his talent to spread the Word of God successfully.
